New Year, New You.........
Jan 05, 2025Blah, blah, blah!
We hear / see it every year that the start of the New Year is the time to make changes (or New Years Resolutions).
Let me share some stats with you:
According to YouGov 17% of people in the UK will give up within a month or two.
15% of the people stick to it throughout the entire year - SunLife survey. This survey also shares the types of New Years Resolutions people have.
I think that's pretty amazing to those who have stuck to it - well done those people.
The trouble with changing at the start of the year is:
- we're already feeling deflated now the "jolly" season is over
- it's a long time until the next bank holiday
- we still in the winter period
- the new years resolution(s) / outcomes are too generic.
- we set ourselves too many that we become overwhelmed.
And the biggest one of all.................we forget we have 365 days (or 366 for leap years) where we can consider what we need to change and set ourselves the actions to do it.
If now isn't the time for you that's ok. Just remember, things won't change if nothing changes.
